It’s summer, so naturally I’m always thinking about s’mores. This may be a hot take, but I think s’mores-inspired desserts are so much better than an actual s’more. Don’t get me wrong, I will never turn down an opportunity to sit by the fire, roast a marshmallow, and make a s’more, but the baking options…they’re UNREAL. S’mores brownies, s’mores cookies, s’mores banana bread — the list goes on and on. I’ve linked my other favorite s’mores recipes below, so after you try out this recipe, make sure you try those out too!
I don’t have a fun story about how this cookie combination came to me. Sometimes, baking ideas just pop into my head out of nowhere and I’m like, “omg I need to write this down!” That was exactly the case for this particular recipe.
These homemade cookies have a delicious peanut butter base and are packed with Teddy Grahams (because they’re cute, okay!), mini marshmallows, mini M&Ms, and mini chocolate chips. It’s another cookie recipe that includes all of my favorite things, so obviously, they do not disappoint. They’re flavorful, soft and chewy, and ready to eat in less than an hour. Talk about a perfect recipe, right?!
Read on for the full recipe for these dreamy Peanut Butter S’mores Cookies.

Peanut butter is one of those ingredients that just makes every recipe better, especially when chocolate is involved. So, of course, you already know that these cookies are amazing.
Instead of stuffing the cookies with peanut butter, I opted to mix the peanut butter directly into the cookie dough. This way, the peanut butter flavor is strong and evenly distributed throughout the cookie. Whenever I’m using peanut butter, I like to use melted butter because I feel like it’s a better flavor match than using brown butter, but that’s just my opinion!
Overall, this recipe is super simple and easy to follow. Just make sure that you let your butter cool for ten minutes before combining it with the sugars AND that you let your cookie dough chill for 30 minutes in the refrigerator before baking. Both of these steps will give the cookies the dreamiest, soft and chewy texture and help them bake up nice and tall.
As for toppings, since it’s a s’mores recipe, you already know that I’m using Teddy Grahams. However, if you don’t have Teddy Grahams, you can absolutely use broken/roughly chopped graham cracker pieces. The Teddy Grahams just make the cookies even more visually appealing. Of course, the cookies are also loaded up with mini marshmallows, mini M&Ms, and mini chocolate chips, but feel free to add in any toppings that you like! Just keep in mind, how much you’re adding. For this particular recipe, the peanut butter makes the dough a bit drier, so you don’t want to add more than two total cups of toppings to the dough.

Tips for success
Measure your dry ingredients correctly! Never scoop up the flour directly with the measuring cup as the flour will be compacted and you will end up with too much. Instead, take a spoon and run it through the flour to remove any clumps. Then, take the spoon and spoon the flour directly into the measuring cup. Take a flat top tool and level off the top to remove any extra flour. Also, please make sure you are using dry ingredient measuring cups to measure your dry ingredients, such as flour, sugar, etc.
Let the butter cool before combining it with the sugars! It is imperative that you let the melted butter cool for ten minutes before whisking it with the brown sugar and granulated sugar. If the butter is too hot, the ingredients will not combine properly which will impact the texture and height of the cookies.
Get an oven thermometer. Quite often, the oven is not actually at the temperature that you set it to. As a result, you may end up over or under baking your desserts. I highly recommend purchasing an oven thermometer to get an accurate read. Once you know what your oven is actually heating up to, then you’ll be able to make adjustments, resulting in better and more consistent bakes.
Use the baking time listed as a guide, not a set rule. I receive comments all the time about how it took someone more or less time to bake something, and that’s totally fine. However, as I mentioned in the previous tip, oven temperatures vary. So, while it may take you an extra two minutes to bake a batch of cookies, it may take someone two minutes less. This is why I say in every single blog post that the baking time listed is simply a guide. You should always go by how your cookies look to determine if they’re done baking. If the edges are set and lightly golden, and the tops of the cookies are a little wet, but mostly set, the cookies are done baking and should be removed from the oven. If you keep baking them until the tops of the cookies are fully set and golden, then they’re over baked and will not have the soft and chewy texture that we’re going for.
FAQs
Do I have to chill the dough?
Since we’re using melted butter, I highly recommend chilling the dough for 30 minutes. Chilling the dough allows the flavors to deepen and results in taller, thicker cookies.
Can I use any brand of peanut butter?
I’ve only tested this recipe using Jif/Skippy which has a thicker consistency, so I can’t say for sure how it will turn out with a different type of peanut butter. Should you choose to use a different brand, keep an eye on how your dough comes together. If it’s too soft or runny (after adding the dry ingredients), add an extra tablespoon of flour until you reach the desired consistency. The dough should be soft and easy to shape — it should not be tacky or stick to your hands.
What size cookie scoop did you use?
I used the large cookie scoop from OXO which holds 3 tbsp of cookie dough.
Can I make these cookies smaller or larger?
Absolutely, but you will need to adjust the bake time accordingly. For smaller cookies, bake for 6 to 7 minutes and then monitor closely. Add an extra minute, as needed. For larger cookies, I recommend sticking to the original bake time listed and adding 1 to 2 minutes, as needed. You can always bake a single test cookie first to determine the optimal baking time. Remember to always go by how the cookies look to know if they’re done baking.
How to store
Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or freeze in a freezer safe container or bag for up to 3 months. If freezing, set the cookies out for 20 to 30 minutes prior to consuming, or place them in the microwave for about 25 seconds.

Not only is this an unreal cookie combination, but these cookies turned out SO CUTE. I just love baking with Teddy Grahams. These cookies are full of peanut butter flavor, chocolate, and all of the best s’mores toppings. I’m obsessed and think you will be too! Try this recipe out and let me know what you think!

Flaky sea salt (for topping)
Directions
- Melt 1 cup butter on the stove or in the microwave. Set aside to cool for 10 minutes.
- While the butter is cooling, combine 3 cups + 3 tbsp all-purpose flour, 2 tsp baking soda, and 1 tsp salt in a bowl and whisk together. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, add 1 cup brown sugar, ½ cup granulated sugar, and the melted butter. Whisk together until it is smooth and combined.
- Add ½ cup creamy peanut butter and 2 tsp vanilla extract.
- Whisk in 2 eggs and 2 egg yolks.
- Add the dry ingredients and fold in with a rubber spatula until a few flour streaks remain. Fold in ½ cup Teddy Grahams, ½ cup mini marshmallows, ½ cup mini M&Ms, and ½ cup mini chocolate chips. Do not overmix.

- Let the cookies cool completely. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
